There are many different types of media analysis. Qualitative analysis is one such form that is used to provide insight into how the public views and discusses a brand or product.
Qualitative analysis involves the examination of the relationship between a text or speech and its likely audience.
This type of analysis focuses on the interpretation of text to determine the likely meaning behind it.
In order to form an interpretation, the analyst takes a look at these factors:
- target audiences
- words used
- media sources, and
- other contextual factors.
Reports then classify the text as favourable or not, giving the client the best idea of the public's view of their brand.
