Media analysis: A definition

Media analysis can also be called media content analysis.

Media content is analysed so that a full report can be provided on what was said, by who and how positive or negative the content is.

The content that is analysed is derived from the full media landscape meaning:
  • editorial media
  • broadcast media
  • social media, and
  • (in some cases) advertorial media.

The main goal is to determine how a specific brand or topic is being discussed in the media as a whole.
